Marty Gordon draws on a diverse artistic background that includes writing, theater, and printmaking to make his clever collages. A former minister, Gordon now devotes his spare time to collage making. Blending sophisticated humor with a comic visual style, he has developed his own unique genre of collage. Gordon lives in Seattle, Washington, with his wife, Sarah, who is also an artist and costume designer. He has exhibited his art nationally and internationally and is featured in the recent publications Masters: Collage, Kolaj Magazine and Modern Vintage Illustration. You can see more of his work at his website: www.whatwouldjesusglue.com.
Art will be on display October 19th - November 14th.

Artist: Laurette Chassé
Venue: Walter's / 6408 32nd Ave NW
Event: January 19th 6pm - 9pm
Showing: January 1st - 31st
Series Name: "I'm a Little Teapot"
Laurette's Collage Process:
Once the idea for a series makes itself known to me, I spend several weeks selecting images from magazines, books, calendars, etc.
After I carefully hand cut the chosen elements, the collage develops as I arrange and then finally glue each piece in place.
The collage is complete after I apply several layers of acrylic semi-gloss medium.
No computers, cameras, or copy machines are used for this process.
Ballard Night Out is presented by Greater Ballard Arts - supporting arts and cultural events in Ballard's 98107 & 98117 zip codes.
