Artists Laurette Chasse and Elaine Corets share a mutual obsession. Yarn. Inspired by the color riffs of Georgia O'Keefe, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Joan Miro, they decided to paint with wool. Technicolor sheep and other knitted pieces have come into being. Laurette’s signature collage work has also been informed by the study of these artists; snippets of O’Keefe/van Gogh/Miro appear in her new mirror frames.

Series Name: "I'm a Little Teapot"
Laurette's Collage Process:
Once the idea for a series makes itself known to me, I spend several weeks selecting images from magazines, books, calendars, etc.
After I carefully hand cut the chosen elements, the collage develops as I arrange and then finally glue each piece in place.
The collage is complete after I apply several layers of acrylic semi-gloss medium.
No computers, cameras, or copy machines are used for this process.
