Show: 'Flags' Group Show
Venue: BallardWorks / 2856 NW Market St
Event: July 19th 6pm - 9pm
ONE NIGHT ONLY
Flags are probably our oldest form of communication at a distance. Please join us for the Ballard Night Out on Thursday, July 19, 6-9PM to view the “Flags" exhibit of visual communications.
Flags mark locations. They signal from mountain tops or battlements. Semaphores send messages by holding two flags in certain positions. Some species of Iris are called flags and the fleur-de-lis symbol once used on the French flag is stylized iris blossom. Many animals raise their tails and wave them to communicate, such as a happy dog. What other flags can you think of?
Ballard Night Out is presented by Push/Pull - supporting arts and cultural events in Ballard's 98107 & 98117 zip codes.
