Stop in to see the work of Bridge Marie Art and Marisa Firebaugh duringDecember 2017 Ballard Night Out.
When I'm not binging on Netflix or eating, I'm painting. Last year I moved from the windy city (to avoid the brutal winters and) be closer to the outdoors, so nature is a big inspiration for me. I like to experiment with different mediums with most of my pieces involving watercolor, markers and acrylic paint. I'm really interested in creating abstract qualities into my realistic work, by adding a ton of layered and loose textures. No matter the subject though, I like to include calming and vibrant colors. You can find out more about me and my work over on my website:bridgemarieart.com
Marisa grew up with her dad a diver and her mom an artist. That combination instilled in her a love of the sea and drawing. After getting a BFA in Illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, she found herself driving out to her dad’s old diving haunts along the California coast to paint. After falling in love with a Seattleite and Seattle itself, she packed up her paints, and moved onto a sailboat in Ballard. On her free time you can find her anywhere near the sea, paintbrushes in hand, with her pitbull mutt chasing seagulls nearby. https://www.instagram.com/sketchesbythesea/
