This is an exceptional opportunity to meet the artists and ask questions.
Here is information about some of the participating artists:
Becky Street and Larry Calkin -
Larry’s animal cutouts are inspired by his own beloved pets. The shapes are simple yet the personalities and quirks of each animal are evident.. Becky adds color, pattern and repetition to create a narrative for each piece. Together they have created a collection of monoprints and drypoints called back40prints.
Greg Shaw -
Greg is a recent graduate of Seattle Pacific University. The goal of his work is to provoke feelings and thoughts in the viewer and challenge them to interpret the work in an empathetic manner. At the core of his craft is the drawing which works as the foundation of his printmaking, watercolor and acrylic paintings.
Dawn Endean -
Dawn creates evocative imagery combining recognizable images with ambiguous organic forms from the microscopic to the figurative. Her process involves building layers of pattern and color via intaglio plates, painting on plexiglass and collaging. Her work is intricate yet can hold its own.
Margot Myers -
Margot’s formative experience living and working in an indigenous wilderness region of Alaska has shaped her relationship with natural forces and consequently drives the way she wants to present them. “Order and vitality in nature inspire my creative practice.”
